Singapore Day 2

Another beautiful hot and humid day in Singapore!

First we took a walk to ION Orchard Mall where we got a Singapore Tourist Pass to take the metro. Malls are everywhere here and possibly so people can gather in air conditioning? The stores here are unbelievable. They literally have everything and then some. So we took the MRT (metro) to a stop called Raffles and then walked to see the famous Merlion!

Their transit system is very clean and looks brand new. When you line up to get on the metro they even have designated red lines where you’re supposed to wait and a green line for those to get off at. It’s also easy to navigate too.

Once we got off we walked to the Merlion and took pictures. After that it was about a 15 minute walk around the water towards this cool bridge called the Helix bridge because it looks like DNA strands. Once the bridge ends you are at the Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands. Again, lots of restaurants and shops. Then we walked through the mall to get to the actual Marina Bay Sands Hotel and Casino. We went up to the rooftop Bar called Ce La Vie and had Singapore Slings and looked out an amazing view 57 floors up! We walked across the bar and took a peak at their famous infinity pool! It was so cool.

After that we headed back through the hotel and toward the Gardens by the Bay. If you have seen the movie, Crazy Rich Asians, they shot the night time.wedding scene here.

Gardens by the Bay is a huge set of gardens within the city. We saw the Floral Fantasy exhibit, the famous Supertrees and even went up on the walkway way up high to get a closer look! Then we went to this exhibit called Cloud Forest that had a beautiful waterfall within it’s dome. After all of that we had dinner right by the Supertrees in a food court. Kevin and I had delicious Vietnamese food! At 7:45 the Supertrees put on a beautiful light and music show called Garden Rhapsody! It was definitely a highlight and so cool!

Finally we left and took the MRT back towards our hotel and had dessert!
